He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund J. Bennett and Mary Lorraine Bennett (Flinn); and his former wife Betty Lanham. He is survived by: his wife Karen Shores of Monroe; his daughter Shari Rena Ledbetter (Eugene) of Oneonta, Alabama; his grandchildren, Michael Frederick of Jackson, William "Billy" Frederick (Mary Lou) of New Hudson, Cherokee Farmer (Brandon) of Oneonta and Cheyenne Frederick of Oneonta; his siblings, Connie Manzo of Monroe, Edmund Bennett II (Leann) of Stockbridge and Kathi Roark (Barry); his half-sister Linda "Lyn" Awbrey (Larry); his stepdaughter Miranda Shores; and his stepgranddaughters, Haley Ambriz and Katelyn Ambriz. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
