He was predeceased by: his parents, Foster McNeil and Dallis Myrtle McNeil (Adkins); his wife Joyce Schneider; his daughter Laura McNeil; and his nephew Matthew McNeil.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela Higgins (Steve) of Valparaiso, Indiana; his grandchildren, Joshua Higgins of Valparaiso and Jordan Hough (Jon) of Muskegon, Michigan; his brother Gary McNeil; his sibling's children, Kristie McNeil, Richard McNeil (Marie), Gary McNeil Jr., Bryan McNeil and Michael McNeil (Missy); and his close friend Sue McLaughlin.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Monroe VFW Post 1138.
