He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Betrus and Sadie Betrus (Hatem); his sisters, H. Marie Smith, Lillian J. Betrus and Sally A. Vanderpool; his nephews, Mark D. Smith, Brian A. Smith, Michael R. Vanderpool and Dean Dru Vanderpool; his niece Mary Frances Vanderpool; and his great-niece Sadie N. Gutierrez.
He is survived by: his cousin Mary Ann Byers.
