He was predeceased by: his parents, John Canode and Sylvia Canode (Wiseman); his wife Sandy; his son Richard Scott Canode; his brothers, Harley, Joe and Tim Canode; and his stepdaughter Patty Depew.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Poley of Monroe and Tracy Beeler (Jim) of Monroe; his stepchildren, Tracie Kuska, Carla Latondress (Paul) and Jeff Lockard (Denise); his sisters, Sally See (Jim) of Matthews, NC and Jeannie Henry of Wellston, OH; his grandchildren, Nichole Roberts (Jimmy), Chelsea Bechard (Michael), Nikki Brown (David) and Shawnee Poley (Josh Rigsby); and his stepson-in-law Johnny Depew. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
