She was predeceased by: her parents, Austin Stecker and Barbara Stecker (Bake); and her sister Julie Sowinski. She is survived by: her children, Kit Nielsen (David), Lincoln Caplin, Clay Caplin, Brett Caplin and Sarah Mahnke (Becket).
She made countless quilts for loved ones as gifts as well as for donation to anyone in need.
