He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Belcoure; his former wife Kathleen (Kowalski); his siblings, John McDonald, Alex McDonald, Margaret Michanowicz, Robert McDonald and Karen Potonai; and his stepdaughter Diana Moore (Dick).

He is survived by: his daughters, Kelly Rosen (Ronald) of Alledonia, Kari Blanchett (Paul) of Monroe and Kristin Glenn (Clyde) of Fortson, Georgia; his siblings, Shirley Tims-Sisovsky (Jerry), Ann Kurilchik, Helen Charron (Bob), Sharon Campbell and James McDonald (Darlene); his grandchildren, Danielle Wright (Jordan), Aaron Rosen, Kayla Burford (Chris), Jacob Blanchett, Carra Beyma (Dan), Joseph Blanchett (Madalyn), Joshua Blanchett, Carson Glenn and Stacy Adkins (Joe); his great grandchildren, Dakota, Andrik, Jacie, John Thomas, Ella, Margaret, Reed and Arlo; and his great great grandchildren, Kendall and Rylee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
