He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Griffin and Alma Griffin (Lawson); his wife Andrea Steffy; his niece Rikki Taylor; and his stepson Paul Steffy.

He is survived by: his children, Tara Carr (Todd) of Monroe, Michigan and William Griffin; his sister Merlyn Mackey of Monroe, Michigan; his grandchildren, Mareena Carr of Monroe, Jayce Carr of Monroe, Blane Griffin of Monroe and Cade Griffin of Toledo, Ohio; and his nieces, Karissa McComas and Amanda Taylor.
