He was predeceased by: his parents, David Long and Myrtle Long (Matthews); his wife Peggy Flynn; and his siblings, David Long and Marlene Long.

He is survived by: his sons, David (Samantha Flynn) and Matthew Long; his brother Donald Long; and his grandsons, Isaiah and Abraham Flynn.
