He was predeceased by: his parents, Lavern Schafer and Anna Schafer (Flachs); and his brother Darwin Schafer. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Schafer; his stepchildren, Karla Harman (Brandon Anton) of Mt. Pleasant, Kristi Wonsitler of Bolivar, MO and Kyle Harman (Daisy Jones) of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren, Isabella Schafer, Eliana Schafer, Micah Schafer, Anna Schafer, Eliza Schafer, Roxanna Harman, Victoria Smith, Alex Haswell, Kendall Gregory, Dylan Gregory and Sophia Gregory; his siblings, Kevin Schafer (Catherine) of Mt. Pleasant, Patricia Daniele (Alberto) of Wood Dale and Charlotte Peczkowski of Aurora, Ill; the mother of his children Carol Sirvio Schafer; and his parents-in-law, Madaline Hilliard Smith and Charles Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
