It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kelly Marie Schafer (Mount Pleasant, Michigan), who passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Barbara A. McMullen (Curtiss). She is survived by: her father James H. McMullen; her husband Kurt Schafer; her children, Karly Gibson (David) of Wixom, MI, Logan Schafer (Hunter Ruby) of Denver, CO and Noah'Buddy'Schafer of Denver, CO; her siblings, Kerry Steele, Jeff McMullen (Annette), Curt McMullen and Tory McMullen (Lori); and her parents-in-law, Dick and Gerry Schafer. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Alzheimer's Association, or the Mt Pleasant Area Community Foundation to benefit the future "Kelly's Kids" fund, a memorial fund being created to provide financial assistance to Beal City students in need.
