She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Anderson and Inez Anderson; her husband Dr. Ralph Baumgarth; and her brother Melvin Anderson. She is survived by: her children, Matthew Baumgarth (Marianne) of Oregon City and Ryan Baumgarth (Courtney Lockhart) of Chicago; and her grandchildren, Daniel Ryan, Jonathan Nelson and Lauren Christine.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Bucks Run Golf Club (1559 South Chippewa Rd, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858). A burial will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery (1409 N Fancher St, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation, honoring Sonja's lifelong commitment to faith, education, and community.
