He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Stephanie Markey (Joe) and Paul Preston; and his stepchildren, Alissa Doepker (Jeff) and Jason Shirley. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home (2300 S Lincoln Rd, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (302 S Kinney Ave, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858). A burial was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Calvary Cemetery (1409 N Fancher St, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Lincoln Reception Center (2300 S Lincoln Rd, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858).
