He was predeceased by : his parents, John Joseph Hurley McDonald and Lucille Irene McDonald (Bevan); and his siblings, Joseph McDonald, Carol Eberhardt and Janet Frick.

He is survived by : his wife Margaret McDonald; his children, Stephanie Weems (Tony) of Patoka, IL, Christopher McDonald (Melissa) of Tuson, AZ, Jennifer Newton (Jeff) of Farmington Hills, MI and Kimberly Thompson (Dale) of New Orleans, LA; and his brother John McDonald of Gifhorn. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
