She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell McDowl and Evelyn McDowl (Snyder); her husband Clarence Johnson; her daughter Mary Ruth Palmer; and the father of her children Leon Palmer.
She is survived by: her children, Timothy Palmer of Mt. Pleasant, Rebekah Shattuck of Traverse City, Lois Palmer of Six Lakes and Martha Palmer of Six Lakes; her grandchildren, Michael Gilbert (Anna), Teri Gilbert, Alex Shattuck, Emily Mizell (Michael) and Andrea McAllister (Jon); and her great grandchildren, Brooklyn Courser, Kylee McAllister, Lydia Gilbert, Alexis Grove, Evelyn Gilbert, Holly McAllister and Killian Grove.
