He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Peter and Harriet Regina Smith (Lawens); his brother Glen Smith; his brothers-in-law, Mark Pasch, John Lau and Charlie Bragdon; and his stepson-in-law Anthony Bragdon.
He is survived by: his son Aaron Smith (Lori); his grandchildren, Zachary and Eloise; his significant other Katie Bragdon; his significant other's children, Rachel Robinson (Randy Woodman), James Robinson and Jody Jackson; his siblings, Norma Lyden (Paul), Barbara Joanne Smith, Mike Smith (Cindy), Dave Smith (Carrie), Ann Rau (Doug), Betty Pasch (Frank Lynch) and Deb Faber (Dave); his in-laws, Cathy Smith, Christine Bragdon-Lau, Virginia Woodbury (Mike), Martha Pety (Steve Cahoon) and Lesa Wohlscheid; Jennifer Bragdon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home (2300 S Lincoln Rd, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
