He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Golisek and Lois Golisek (Credland); his daughter Nancy Beauchaine; his granddaughter Olivia Bosley; and his brother David Golisek.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen "Sue" Golisek of Munising; his children, Jan Golisek, Jr. (Tina Mannisto) of Christmas, Brenda Mannisto (Howard, Jr.) of Munising and Deserée Bosely (Nathan LaFernier) of Shingleton; his grandchildren, Kendra Golisek, Michael Golisek, Jan Golisek III, Emily Mannisto, Stephanie Mannisto, Hanna Mannisto (John Dartt), Ally Houle (Thomas Richardson), Henry Bosely, Selby Beauchaine, Margaret Beauchaine, Jordan Beauchaine, Molly Beauchaine and Sydney Bonneau; his son-in-law Terry Beauchaine; and his siblings, Mike Golisek, Sr. (Sharon), Cynthia Kuston (Lou), Rebecca Marti (Luc), Debra LaPlant (Rick) and Lisa Nankervis (Jerry). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
