We announce the death of Ishamel Handshoe of Munith, Michigan, who passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 87. Ishamel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Handshoe and Mollie Handshoe (Combs); his wife Earnestine (Patrick); and his siblings, Philmon, Chester Handshoe and Cleatha Foster.
He is survived by: his children, Debi Walz (Donald) of Waterloo Twp, Timothy Handshoe (Tessie) of Munith, Ishina Kane (Sean) of Jackson and Ishmael Handshoe (Sonia) of Munith; his siblings, Darrel Handshoe (Shirley) of Kentucky, James Handshoe (Delana) of Munith, Taulbee Handshoe (Fran) of Stockbridge, Cindy Bennington (William) of Pennsylvania and Verna Wireman (Albert) of Onondaga; and his brother-in-law Thomas Lowe of North Carolina. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
