He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Secord and Cecilia Secord (Beryle); his in-laws, Bob and Donna Fongers; his siblings, George, Phillip, Patricia, Elizabeth and Chuck; and his brother-in-law Thom Fongers.
He is survived by: his wife Sue; his daughters, Kimberly Krueger (Jeff Hopkins), Jennifer Timmer (Eric) and Megan Secord; his grandchildren, Ashley Krueger (Ryan Flikkema), Ethan Krueger (Madi Ogle), Hunter Krueger (Lauren Wright), Sophie, Eli and Cecilia Timmer; his great grandchild Henry Flikkema; his siblings, Joe Secord and Theresa Secord; and his in-laws, Terri Secord, Mary Beth Fongers, Mary Dobb (Jim), Mike Fongers, Scott Fongers (Lynn) and Helene Secord. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Allen Avenue Christian Church (695 Allen Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442-3605).
Memorial contributions in memory of Jim may be given to Muskegon Christian School or the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
