He was predeceased by: his father William Pekel; his parents-in-law, Edward and Polly Blodgett; and his siblings-in-law, Matt and Sandy Mercurio.
He is survived by: his mother Sally Pekel (Uithoven); his wife Pam; his daughters, Alyssa McKay (Gardner) and Maddison Pekel (Trevor Weinrick); his grandchildren, Gardner Jeffery McKay and Wynter Rose McKay; his brothers, Scott "Beak" Pekel (Robin) and Todd Pekel (Evie); his brothers-in-law, Lou "Big-Lou" Blodgett and Brad "Goo" Blodgett; and his pet Kasper. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation (6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Lithuania Club (2152 9th St, Muskegon Heights, MI 49444).
