He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Shepherd and Eleanor Shepherd (Kosminski); and his brother Bruce Shepherd. He is survived by: his wife Marsha VanLente; his siblings, Gary Shepherd (Barb) and Susan Prell; his sons, Robert Dale Shepherd and Matthew Shepherd (Victoria); his stepchildren, Thomas Jelinek (Tonya), Kristi Veen, Stacy Rainbolt and David [JoAnne] VanLente; his grandchildren, Jonathan Shepherd, Sydney Shepherd, Christopher Shepherd, David Shepherd, Adam Norbotten, Ashlee Kromer (Joe), Kristian Veen, Brandon Rainbolt, Blake Rainbolt, Kyle Jelinek (Alanah), Derek Jelinek (Abby), Kodi Jarvis (Matt), Ethan Vanlente (Chloe) and Zachary VanLente; his great grandchildren, Aram, Saul, Elliot, Leeland, Ariana, Finnick, Keegan, Emmy and Kashton; his former wife Suzanne Gould (Robert); and his brother-in-law Roger Graves (Gayle). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Muskegon Civic Theatre.
