He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Gomez and Dorothy Gomez (Dutcher); his children, Samantha Gomez (Robert Daniel) of Ohio, Mark Gomez (Jamie Flermoen), Joseph Hall and Brandie Simpson (Chad); his grandchildren, Ryan, Aiden, Riley, Hailey, Josef, Blake, Ian, Merissa, Nathanael, Jayna, Oaklee and Oliver; his close friend Mark R. Bowen; and his siblings, Dorothy Watts (Eddie), Joseph "Danny" Gomez Jr. (Jan), Scott Gomez, Angel Johnson (Termaine) and Nancy Brewer (Doug).
A graveside service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oakland Cemetery. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Marks Residence.
