He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Sr. Aley and Lucille Aley (Phillips); and his siblings, Ray "Skip" Aley and Patsy Metzler. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Jacobs; his children, Mark Aley (Rhonda) and Luci Aley; his grandchildren, Colton Phiscator (Courtney), Nikolas Aley (Allysa) and Hanna Murphy (Nic); his siblings, Sandra Stehney (Ed), Tom Aley (Issy), Jeff Aley and Lurinda Aley (Scott Cavner); and his pet Molly. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
