With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Phyllis D. Janes (Muskegon, Michigan), born in Grand Haven, Michigan, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Phyllis left this world on May 21, 2024 at the age of 78, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Oscar Strickler and Margaret Strickler; her husband Roy Janes; and her brother Richard Strickler. She is survived by : her children, Deborah Broemer (Steve), Laurie Chartrand (Dave), Jim Janes (Jennifer), Jeff Janes, Heidi Vanderstelt and Angie Smith (Brad); her grandchildren, Zac Chartrand, Chris Chartrand, Brittany Mendheim (Josiah), Alyssa Chartrand, Lexi Chartrand, Madeline Gabrielle, Justin Clish (Aimee), Kyle Clish (Trinity), Seth Shavalier, Brooke Janes, Summer Carlson (Trent), Ava Janes, Austin Broemer and Jonah Broemer; her great grandchildren, Ezreala Clish, Abe Clish, Jude Clish, Bentley Welch, Ella Clish and Mason Clish; and her siblings, Jim Strickler, Delores Durkee (Dick), Blanche Nickels (Larry), Walter Strickler and Marilyn Bilek.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church (1066 E Byron Rd, Norton Shores, MI 49441). A memorial service was held on Friday, May 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations either to Hospice of Michigan, who provided exceptional care to Phyllis and her family during the final days, or to Bethel Baptist Church.
