He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis LaJoie and Mary LaJoie (White); his daughter Little Alice'LaJoie; his siblings, Ernest LaJoie, Janet LaFond, Patricia Sowden, Walter LaJoie and Mary Lou LaJoie; his former wife Lorraine; and his parents-in-law, Lawrence and Mildred DeRoche.
He is survived by: his wife Alice LaJoie; his children, Robert'Butch' (Donita), Michael'Mikko' (Cathy), Russell (Jan), David (Mami), Bradley (Ann), Daniel (Colleen), Steve (Tracy), Jon (Janet) and Teresa Piziali (Brent); his siblings-in-law, David Sowden, Lonnie St (Marion), Paul DeRoche (Janice), Peter DeRoche, James DeRoche, Rita Sturza (Ron) and Cecilia Detwiler; and his close friend Wayne Young. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Paul Catholic Church (202 W Case St, Negaunee, MI 49866). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in his memory to Eastwood Nursing Center and/or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
