We announce the death of Richard Stanislaus Kowalewski (New Baltimore, Michigan), who passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 89. Richard will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanislaus Kowalewski and Hedwig Kowalewski; and his siblings, Irene Bogdanski (late Zigmund), Eugene Kowal (late Marilyn) and Christine Serens.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Kowalewski; his children, Jennifer Henriksen (Andy) and Gregory Kowalewski (Tara); and his grandchildren, Erin, Cecilia, Rowan, Sasha and Declan. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wasik Funeral Home - Gendernalik Chapel (35259 23 Mile Rd., New Baltimore, MI 48047). A rosary will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the same location. The lying in state will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Queen of Creation Church (50931 Maria St, New Baltimore, MI 48047). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Fr. Solanus Casey Center in Richard's memory, honoring his strong faith and dedication to his community.
