He is survived by: his sons, Jamie Messing (Kim) and Craig Messing (Jolette); his granddaughter Lillian Margarette; his stepgrandchildren, Kayla, Katie and Josh; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Sebastian and Rayna; his siblings, Carol Dropeski (Harold), Ben Messing (Pat), Cliff Messing (Sue) and Mike Messing (Sherry); his siblings-in-law, Paul Slater and Pat Messing; and his close friend Shirley Messing. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 8:30 AM at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (7135 E Atwater Rd, Ruth, MI 48470-8507). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at the SSPP Church Cemetery.
