He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lyke and Margaret Lyke (Whitmire); his wife Peggy Bunn; his grandson Andrew Stephen Wurster; his siblings, Lulu Witt, Lawrence Lyke (Bud), Orville Lyke, Phyllis Odgers, Eleanor Carter, Leonard Lyke and James Lyke; and his close friend Joanne Murray.
He is survived by: his children, Anne Lyke (Mark Fitzgerald), Thomas Lyke (Kathi), Lynn Whiting (Richard) and Bari Lyke (Steve Aune); his grandchildren, Nora Colegrove (Keith), Katherine Thakur (Anand), Brenna Tavidian (David) and Daniel Wurster; his great grandchildren, Abigail, Kaidan, David and Henry; and his close friend Sharon Bohn.
