Jeanne E. Thompson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeanne E. Thompson of Newberry, Michigan, born in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, who passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Silho Weikko and Lempi Aleene Jarvie (Oja); her husband James Thompson; her sister Mary; her brother-in-law Don Gray; her son-in-law Michael MacInnis; her nephew Rob Gray; and her pet Sarah.

She is survived by : her daughters, Heather Haapala of Sault Ste, Marie and Erika Frechette (Dan) of Naples, Florida; her grandchild Ryan Morley of Brimley, Michigan; her stepchildren, Stephen Thompson of Tennessee, Becky Russo (Fred) of Michigan, Pattie Izmond (Mark) of Michigan, Scott Thompson (Shelley) of Illinois, Cindy Thompson of Washington, Kevin Thompson (Dee) of California and Karen Thompson (Ivan Fende) of Michigan; her goddaughter Laurie Krell (Sedestrom) of Michigan; and her nieces and nephews, Matthew Gray of South Carolin, Erin Pearson (Haapala) of Florida, Andy Haapala of Michigan, Sue Rothermel (Gray) of North Carolina and Marty Guthrie (Sedestrom) of Virginia. She is also survived by her many friends and Jarvie cousins.

She enjoyed knitting and would often knit hats to donate to local charities.
