He is survived by: his father John Payton; his wife Beverly Hanger; his children, Gregory Payton (Amy) of Buffalo, Jeffrey Payton (Mike) of Walled Lake and Carrie Dewyer of Marquette, Michigan; his brother Roger Payton (Kim) of Crawfordville, Florida; his nephews, Johnathan Payton of Florida, Kyle Randolph of Florida and Cole Randolph of Florida; his grandchildren, Justin Payton (Jessie) of Florida, Heather Taylor (Han) of Two Harbors, Ethan Dewyer of Raleigh, Danielle Dewyer (Josh) of Mt. Morris and Holly Spence of Minnesota; and his great grandchildren, Ian Payton, Scout Taylor, Wyatt Wilde, Hailey Spence, Bella Spence, Leighton Spence and Kestral Spence.
