He was predeceased by : his parents, Eddie Ames and Iva Ames (Morris). He is survived by : his wife Sharon Ames; his children, Kristen Ames, Ryan Ames and Tyler Ames (Katherine); his grandchildren, Mack Ames, Iva Ames, Olive Ames, Eli Wagner and Daxton Ames; and his sister Lanna Berns (Tom).

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Promedica Hospice.
