In loving memory of Ben J. Pompey of Niles, Michigan, who departed this world on October 25, 2025 at the age of 93. Ben leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie C. Pompey Sr. and Blanche M. Pompey (Brown); his wife Ernestine Pompey (Haithcox); his son Jerry Shell; his grandson Jason Pompey; his brothers, Jack Pompey, Dean Pompey, Wayne Pompey, Donald Pompey, Max Pompey and Richard Pompey; and his friend Jim Murray.
He is survived by: his children, Bobby Joe Shell (Barb), Victoria Anderson (Jamie), Henry Shell (Duel), Randel Pompey (Patricia), Ben Pompey (Marybeth) and Benita Lomax (Don). He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Clark Chapel (405 Center St, Dowagiac, MI 49047). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
