He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Shirk and Betty Shirk; and his siblings, Morris Shirk and Cathy Niedermann. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Shirk; his children, Philip Shirk (Anita) of Niles, Paul Shirk (Gwen) of Niles, Bertina Shreve of Niles and Melinda Shreve of South Bend, Indiana; and his sisters, Priscilla Crumbly of Gladbrook, Janet Dolezal of Toledo and Lisa Stanley (Chris) of Marshalltown, Iowa.. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
