She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Haften and Anna Van Haften; her husband Peter H. Butus; and her son Keith Edward Butus. She is survived by: her daughter Julie Ann Butus; her grandchildren, MacAllister Bishop Griffiths (Vassana), Cassandra Berry (George "Bert"), Laura Fashbaugh (Zachary) and Jillian Butus; her great grandchildren, MacAllister Bishop Griffiths II, Miles Keith Griffiths, Mackenzie Mia Griffiths and Grace Marie Fashbaugh; and her brother Carl Van Haften. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

The family prefers contributions in memory of Kathyn Butus may be made to, Michigan Garden Clubs at migardenclubs.org or Niles Public Library at Nileslibrary.com.
