She was predeceased by : her parents, Charlie Watkins and Lottie Watkins; her husband Rev. Jernigan; her daughter Nanette Watkins; her stepdaughter Eva Morrison; and her siblings, Charles Watkins, Willie Bacon and Johnny Gorman.

She is survived by : her daughter Victoria Roberts (Bernard); her stepchildren, Paulette Johnson, Shawnte Jernigan, Mike Hammond and Ernest Hammond; her siblings, Timothy Shaw (Marie), Eva Gorman and Lonnie Watkins; and her grandchildren, Nicole Byrd, Latosha Watkins, Damara Watkins, Daryl Watkins, Dylan Garris, Jaydan Garris, Devin Watkins and Clarvon Robinson. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Mt Calvary Baptist Church (601 Ferry St, Niles, MI 49120).
