He was predeceased by: his parents, Varrick Bookwalter and Geneva Bookwalter. He is survived by: his wife Louise; his daughter Lisa Horst of Muncie; his grandchildren, Kyla and Tara; his son Todd Bookwalter of Niles; his grandchildren, Payton and Catherine; and his stepchildren, Ron, Cindy and Lisa. He is also survived by three step grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Halbritter Wickens (615 E Main St, Niles, MI 49120). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to New Journey United Methodist Church 302 Cedar Street, Niles.
