She was predeceased by: her parents, Eino Kaarto and Helen Kaarto (Wilman); her daughter Denise; and her siblings, Norman, Gary Kaarto and Marie Alapert.
She is survived by: her husband David Carlson; her daughter Deanna Kemppainen (Eric); her grandchildren, David (Jenny), Hayley (Senn), Kelsey, Dylan, Michael (Hanna) and Carley; her great grandchildren, Elliott and Jack; and her sisters, Florence Sandve, Joyce Liuska (Don) and Jeanette Juntunen. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mission Untied Lutheran Church (16463 Pelkie Rd, Pelkie, MI 49958). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mission United Lutheran Church (16463 Pelkie Rd, Pelkie, MI 49958).
