He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth "Ky" Witvoet and Marguerite Rottier Scripps; his brother Kenneth "Mike" Scripps; and his nephew Josh Scripps. He is survived by: his wife Merilee; his children, Adam Scripps (Mary) of Ada, MI, Dan Scripps (Jamie) of Northport, MI, Elisabeth Blue of Shorewood, WI, Kimberly Evans (Roger) of Strasburg, PA, Taylor Scripps (Dawn) of Howell, MI and Theo Scripps (Dawna) of Mt. Juliet, TN.; his grandchildren, Anna Scripps, Brendan Scripps, Brooke Evans, Denelle Brice (Lewis), Duncan Blue (Taylor), Dylan Evans, Eleanor Scripps (Logan McIntosh), Jack Scripps, Ky Scripps, Margaret Scripps-Matchuny (Jacob), Nicol Scripps, Noah Scripps, Owen Scripps and Stuart Blue (Yuyu); his great grandchildren, Ophelia Evans and Rhaelynn Brice; his friend Hope Weist; and his brothers, Bill Scripps and Rich Scripps.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Northport Performing Arts Center (104 S Wing St, Northport, MI 49670).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Northport Performing Arts Center, Northport Community Band, Grand Rapids Ballet, or Alma College.
