He was predeceased by : his father Marvin O'Brien; the mother of his children Jane O'Brien (Benson); his brothers, Alan and Gregory; and his brother-in-law Don Livingston.

He is survived by : his mother Arlene O'Brien (Overby); his wife Margo Lori; his grandchildren, Michael, Olivia, Sophia and Carter; and his siblings, Bob, Gus, Dale, Bill and Jean Livingston. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
