He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Nelson and Nan Nelson; his son Burt Nelson (Michelle); and his granddaughter Jessica Harden. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Grady; his daughters, Nannette Fiers (Joe), Carla Nelson and Andrea Saucedo (Nash); his grandchildren, Burt Nelson Jr., Russell Nelson, Crystal Osborn (Kevin), Olivia Nelson, Renee Carducci (Dan Barber), Jeremy Carducci, Nathan Carducci (Sherry), Carl Lindenau (Amy), Dominique Vallier, Jared Saucedo, Andy Saucedo (Lindsey) and Alex Saucedo (CJ Matias); and his great grandchildren, Lilly, Eli, Rosie, Liam, Addie, Ashlyn, Miles, Chase and Emma.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church (2945 E Northfield Church Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105).
