He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Geraldine; his children, Thomas, Dennis (Patti Stocker), Patty Worden (Scott), James (Jody) and John (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Tom, Kathleen, Madeline and Morgan; his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth (O'Neill); and his sister Beverly Glendening (Vern). He was also cherished by his many nieces and nephews.
