Joan R. Nelson Obituary

The memory of Joan R. Nelson of Norton Shores, Michigan, who passed away on April 1, 2026 at the age of 88, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bessie Borgerding (Vanderstelt) and Herman Borgerding; her husband Rodger Nelson; her brothers, Richard Borgerding (Nona) and Dave Borgerding (Phyllis); her niece Lou Borgerding; her nephews, Brian and Dick Jr. Borgerding; her parents-in-law, Katherine and Louis Nelson; her brother-in-law Mark Nelson; and her great grandchild Aiden Scott.

She is survived by: her children, Mike (Judi Nelson) and Kelli (Ken Persenaire); her great grandchildren, Kristina, Andrew Padilla (Colin), Jacob Nelson, Kenny Persenaire, Kyle, JoAnna Persenaire (Sutton), Kate and Andrew Scott; and her sister-in-law Karen (Paul Bolhuis).

For Memorial Contributions, Joan wanted to bless her church, Anchor Point Bible Church, as well as the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
