He was predeceased by: his parents, Eileen Marie Mergener (Petersen) and Leo Mergener; his siblings, Cindy Mergener, Dodi Mergener and Randy Mergener; and his parents-in-law, Ruth Ann and Ronald Maka.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Mergener; his children, Jennifer Randall (David), Heather Rios (Jeremy), Michael Mergener II and Melissa Mergener; his grandchildren, Emma Randall, Matthew Randall, Brian Rios and Michael Rios; his father-in-law Ronald Dancz, Sr.; and his brother-in-law Ronald Dancz, Jr. (Romona). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
