He is survived by: his wife Gay Petersen; his children, Richard "Rick" Petersen (Doreen) and Corine "Corky" Blackmore; his grandchildren, Joseph "Joe" Blackmore, Bridget Blackmore (Darian Ali), Ryan Blackmore, Victoria Petersen, Richard "Ben" Petersen (Codi Stafford) and Miranda Tijerina (Joseph "Joe"); his great grandchildren, Claire, Elliot and Josefa Doris "JD"; and his sisters, Shirley Lawrence and Kathy Carlson (John).
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
