He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Kugler and Katherine Kugler (Grabrick); his siblings, Dennis "Dutch" Kugler and Virginia Cronkright; and his sister-in-law Pam Kugler.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Raiche; his children, Brandy Kugler, Virginia Hokens (Ryon) and Douglas Kugler, Jr. (Tara); his stepchildren, Rick Swanson (Lauren) and Jessie Ortman (Adam); his grandchildren, Dillion, Latoya, Breann, Logan, Tyler, Johnathan, Austin and Annalise; and his siblings, Eugene Kugler and Patricia Jousma (Rob). He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
