George J. Freeman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George J. Freeman (Novi, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 6, 2025 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of George J. Freeman to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Freeman; his son Walter Freeman; his parents, Walter Freeman and Agnes Freeman; and his siblings, Tom Freeman, John Freeman, Mary Sutherland, David Freeman and Larry Freeman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Regina Mazzoli (Julio Mazzoli), Susan Flanagan (Patrick Flanagan) and Nancy Gunther (Randy Gunther); his grandchildren, Katie Flanagan, Peter Mazzoli (Megan Mazzoli), Kelly Flanagan (Alex Flanagan), Lauren Zavala (Mitch Zavala), Robert Gunther (Ashley Gunther) and Nicholas Gunther (Sunny Gunther); his great grandchildren, Ellie Gunther, Rafaella Zavala and Levi Gunther; and his sister Judy Laurie. He is also survived by extended family members and unforgettable friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (46325 W 10 Mile Rd, Novi, MI 48374). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to the Walter A. Freeman Memorial Scholar Athlete Award, a fund that was set up to honor George's late son Walter. Checks can be made payable to: C-RCSD, Please write on the memo line: Walter A Freeman Award.
