He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Kowalchuk and Eugenia Kowalchuk (Nowik); and his son Steve Kowalchuk. He is survived by: his wife Marcia Kowalchuk; his son John Kowalchuk; his grandchildren, Riley and Lucas; and his siblings, Mary Burns (Dave), Anna Pelno (Jim), Nina Belmar and Nick Kowalchuk (Christine). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
