With sadness, we share the passing of James David Koenig of Oak Park, Michigan. James David, born on February 14, 1946 in Flint, Michigan, passed away on September 9, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James David Koenig to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Stella Koenig and Herbert Koenig; his sister Florence Berner; his brother-in-law Irving Berner; and his granddaughter Carmen Snyder.

He is survived by: his wife Jenny; his former wife Donna DeAngelis (Arnie); his children, Daniel Koenig (Kai Chang Lu) and Colleen Nyland (Michael); his grandchildren, Katy and Andy; his daughter Rachelle Koenig; his grandchildren, Ella and Sam; his daughter Brianna Creque (Tyler Snyder); and his grandchildren, Cole, Charlie and Cara. He is also survived by 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 3 great-nieces, 5 great-nephews and several cousins.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Machpelah Cemetery (4615 Branch Rd, Flint, MI 48506). Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 3:00 PM at 25172 Anchor Ln, Harrison Township, MI 48045. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Congregation Shir Tikvah's prayer book fund in Troy, Michigan.
