He was predeceased by: his son Igor Balk; his parents, Isay Balk and Klara Balk; and his brother Gregory Balk (Tamara). He is survived by: his son Mikhail Balk; his grandchildren, Simona Balk and Jennifer Balk; and his niece Ann Balk (Vadin Baranovskiy).
