With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Girard M. Dion of Okemos, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 23, 2025 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Dion and Mary Dion; and his siblings, Mary Mullins (Stanley), Patricia Dion, John Dion, Theresa Roehrig (Donald), Joseph Dion, Leo Dion, Rita Shetiah (Tawfik), Olive Dion, Charles Dion (Sharon), Anthony Dion, Ann Marie Pullis, Thomas Dion (Barbara), Janet Dion, William Dion and Denis Dion (Linda).
He is survived by: his brothers, Stephen Dion (Eit), James Dion and Patrick Dion (Marianne); and his siblings-in-law, Kenneth (late Ann Marie) and Patricia (late John Dion).
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Riley Funeral Home (426 W St Joseph St, Lansing, MI 48933). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary Cathedral (219 Seymour Ave, Lansing, MI 48933). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
