He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard Thayer and Gertrude Thayer (Butler). He is survived by : his wife Mary; his children, Troy Thayer and Connie Tobias; his stepson Ben Nelson (Carol); and his sisters, Ruth "Dolly" Finney (Dan) and Nancy L. Gardenhouse. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
